Pimpri Chinchwad, 21st May 2026: Ahead of Bakri Eid, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Thursday held a coordination meeting with police officials and representatives of various community organisations to review arrangements for the festival and ensure that civic facilities are provided without disruption.
Chairing the meeting at the Auto Cluster auditorium in Chinchwad, municipal commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi directed all concerned departments to work in coordination and ensure there are no lapses in services provided to citizens during the festival period. He also appealed to citizens to cooperate with the administration and follow prescribed rules.
Senior civic officials, police officers and members of trader and community organisations, including representatives of the Qureshi Jamaat Vyapari Sanghatana, attended the meeting.
Officials said the civic body would provide temporary infrastructure and essential facilities at designated sites identified for animal sacrifice during Bakri Eid. These facilities would include tin sheds, mandaps, adequate water supply, mobile toilet vans, sanitation staff and a separate waste collection mechanism.

The administration also said separate arrangements would be made for keeping animals brought for sacrifice, along with drinking water facilities, water tankers and storage tanks at the sites. Special teams will be deployed for immediate collection and disposal of waste generated after the ritual sacrifice to maintain cleanliness in the surrounding areas.
Police officials said adequate security arrangements would also be made at the designated locations.
Deputy commissioner Sandeep Khot informed the meeting that, as in previous years, the space near the Nehrunagar dock point has been designated for Bakri Eid-related activities.
During the discussion, representatives of various organisations demanded increased water supply, additional space for keeping animals at least three to four days before the festival, and continuous sanitation measures around temporary sheds and mandaps. Civic officials assured that the suggestions would be taken into consideration.
